EVESHAM United ended a run of seven games without a victory and moved back into the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One West play-off places.

The fifth-placed Robins triumphed 5-3 at mid-table Slimbridge in a thrilling encounter with Lewis Powell scoring twice.

But Adam Mace put the Swans in front after eight minutes at Thornhill Park with a classy finish following a counter-attack.

Powell equalised in the 44th minute with a header following a fine cross from the right to make it 1-1 at the break.

Mat Liddiard made it 2-1 to Evesham in the 56th minute with a header from inside the six-yard box.

But Marley Thomas levelled five minutes later just after the sending off of Slimbridge's Jack Twyman.

Adam Mann restored Evesham’s lead in the 63rd minute and Carl Brown made it 4-2 with 20 minutes left with another headed goal.

Powell added his second in the 87th minute with substitute Max Harper-Emerson scoring a minute later for Slimbridge’s third.
