WORCESTER women’s firsts romped to a 4-1 home win over Tamworth in Midlands Hockey League Division Two.
They had returned to action the previous week with a 1-1 draw at high-flying Kettering.
The women have moved up to seventh in the table just two points below Tamworth ahead of Saturday’s home game with leaders Rugby and East Warwickshire.
Worcester men remain winless at the bottom of the Warwick Printing Midlands League Premier Division.
They only have one point to show from a draw alongside 14 losses.
Since returning from the festive break, Worcester have lost 9-1 at county rivals Stourport, 10-0 and 10-1 at home to Barton and high-flying Harborne respectively and then 5-1 at Lichfield last weekend.
Matt Gardner, Richard Stocks and Rees Bonham have been on target on the way.
Worcester are nine points adrift ahead of Saturday’s home game with second-from-bottom Rugby and East Warwickshire.
Stourport sit seventh after winning 4-2 at Rugby and East Warwickshire with Andrew Cavendish scoring all the goals.
Worcester seconds are fourth from bottom in Midland One following a 4-3 home defeat to Burton.
The thirds drew 2-2 at Sutton Coldfield.
