DROITWICH Spa BG moved up to third from bottom in the Total Motion Midland Football League Under 21s Division West.

They beat Worcester's HOW Academy 2-1 at King George's Playing Fields with goals from Callum Morris and Jordan Bridges.

Spa looked comfortable in possession and at the back in the first half.

A cross from the visitors hit the post and fell straight into the arms of keeper Luke Wall.

But Spa went ahead when Morris was played in down the right and determination forced the chance which he put past the keeper on the angle at the far post.

HOW equalised swiftly on the counter-attack after finishing off a cross.

But Spa regained the lead when Dan McArdle was taken out in the box and Bridges confidently put the penalty away.

Spa settled down in the second half and prevented another equaliser.

They remained solid with Morris, Matt Patrick-Rivers, Jamie Wall and Brad Knight looking dangerous on the counter-attack.

Goddard made a vital goal-saving block late on.

There were good debut performances from Cam Green and Knight while Morris has now scored seven goals in five matches.

After beating Continental Star 1-0 the previous week, Spa have now won two games in a row to make it three league victories in total.

Stuart Jones and Bridges starred for Spa who host Highgate United on Saturday (10.30am).

Meanwhile, Droitwich Spa lost 2-1 at home to NKF Burbage in Midland League Division Two at Walshes Meadow with Brad Burgess on target.

They try for a third time to play their Worcestershire FA Saturday Junior Cup semi-final at Feckenham on Saturday.
