DROITWICH'S Kazoku-Kan Judo Club bagged six gold medals at the Midland Area Championships.

Jordon Phillips secured gold and James Worsfold, who has not competed for almost a year, claimed a Midland title as well.

Phillips also tackled the open category and added a second crown.

Worsfold put up a fight in the open category for a silver.

Luke Phillips was on top form for a fourth gold medal for the club.

Felicity Warburton faced a higher grade and walked away with a silver.

Joshua Warburton added to the gold collection against an experienced competitor.

Molly Charlwood, in her first competition since last July, battled hard for silver and added second place again in another category.

Eleanor Warburton finished the day with a gold medal and Midland title.

Senior instructor Rich Morrish said: “To see these kids in action and take their hearts and souls onto the mat, showing respect to their opponents and giving it their all is amazing.

"They all understand it’s the taking part that counts and not the medals or winning that matters.

"They train hard every week and are starting to see the results unfold for themselves which is priceless.

"We are very proud of them all.”

Kazoku-Kan train at Physique Fitness on the Berry Hill Industrial Estate every Friday evening.
