WORCESTER secured one of their best Midlands One West wins of the season with an 18-14 triumph at Stourbridge Lions.
The 10th-placed city side, who visit Moseley Oak on Saturday, surprised their Black Country hosts.
Worcester's well-drilled pack were the difference, winning plenty of possession in the scrums and line-outs.
The backs did not always capitalise though as they failed to score a try even when Lions were down to 14 men.
A penalty put Worcester ahead on nine minutes and they added another kick but Lions' converted try helped them lead 7-6 at half-time.
Worcester kicked a third penalty before Lions replied with their second converted try.
But the visitors then shut up shop and three more penalties gave them a narrow win as Lions went down to sixth.
Midlands Two West (South) leaders Droitwich kept up their 100 per cent record with a 26-20 win at Earlsdon.
