ECKINGTON match secretary Nigel White made good use of a favoured draw to win his club’s latest contest on the Avon.

Despite low temperatures and a river starting to run clear White posted excellent figures of 21-12-0.

His winning weight consisted of bream to four pounds along with a few smaller skimmers, all taken on an open end feeder set up with worm hookbait from the famous ‘stump’ peg 3.

Runners-up prize went to Colin Harvey whose catch of 7-9-0 from peg 33.

Graham Jordon came third from peg 31 weighing in a skimmer net of 6-3-0 to narrowly beat Ralph Gresty’s all roach straight lead catch of six pounds which came off peg 27.

Paul Wilson won the Droitwich Spa Open at Porters Mills after taking three late bream going 5-12-0 on caster bait from peg 30.

Second was Mick Samson (Swan AC) with 3-8-8 ahead of Lee Davey with 2-9-8 and Rich Brewer with 1-9-4.
