MIKE McGrath came off the bench to head home a stoppage-time winner as Hereford FC moved within one win of lifting the Southern League Premier Division title.
McGrath caused a host of problems in the Bishop’s Stortford box as the 10-men hosts tried to hold on for a draw before he headed home a late winner.
Earlier in the game Mike Symons saw a penalty saved by goalkeeper Calum Kitscha who also made a string of second-half stops to deny Hereford.
A win at Biggleswade Town at Tuesday will seal the title for Hereford.
Jimmy Oates should have put Hereford ahead after Rob Purdie's free-kick found him unmarked but he sent his header over.
The hosts had a 64th-minute Jamie Cureton effort chalked off for offside.
Bishop's Stortford went down to 10 men after captain Marvel Ekipiteta was given a second yellow card for bringing down Symons when through on goal.
