KING'S School Worcester's netballers won the Superball clash for the first time against their city Royal Grammar School rivals.
They edged home 45-44 in the annual seniors fixture at the University of Worcester Arena.
Both teams had enjoyed successful seasons playing regular school and club fixtures as well as games against the university's BUCS teams.
King’s settled into the occasion quickly and went into the second quarter 14-5 up.
RGS chiselled away at the lead but King’s held on by one point to bag the University of Worcester Trophy.
After becoming a Severn Stars Nova Academy, this is just the start for the players at King’s.
The money raised on the night was in aid of Cancer Research.
King’s second team also won 23-19.
The school's director of netball Emma McKenzie said: “The arena was on fire, showcasing how strong girls’ sport is in Worcester.
"My players have worked incredibly hard this season and deserved to be rewarded.”
