STABILITY and continuity are the keywords as Himbleton look to make an impression in Jelf Insurance Brokers Worcestershire League Division Two this season.

The Meadow Boys are keen to continue the form of 2017 which saw them crowned Division Three champions after winning three-quarters of their games.

Stuart Dickenson retains the captaincy for the forthcoming campaign and hopes his experience in the top divisions of the Kent League will help his side adjust to the increased demands following promotion.

He said: “The squad has a familiar feel to it.

"All of last year’s squad have confirmed they’re up for the challenge and I’ll be looking forward to a full season from Rob Perrins, Greg Dale and Richard Sugden who all joined midway through last year.

“Our bowling came on in leaps and bounds last year and Sam Jenkins arguably had his best season with the ball as the leader of the attack.

"He’s turned into a really class act and I hope he keeps on developing. Hopefully we’ll have Mike Rogers back and Jamie Alford fit to bowl this year which will in effect give us two new quality bowlers.

"Luke Brace will continue behind the stumps.

“Added to the that, the top order all have another successful season with the bat under their belts.

"That’ll help their confidence with the step up. I’m excited ahead of this season. We’ll be playing on new grounds and against teams we haven’t played before.

"Hopefully we’ll be able to surprise a few of them with our ability.”

Himbleton start their 2018 league campaign at home to Halesowen side Coombs Wood on Saturday (1pm).
