ENGLAND and Worcestershire cricket legend Sir Ian Botham was back in the county at Ombersley Golf Club.

Botham was joined by European Tour golfer Andrew Johnston with the pair known as Beefy and Beef respectively.

They arrived by helicopter for a challenge in aid of Beefy's Charity Foundation.

They were playing 18 holes in a day, one in each cricketing county, and chose Ombersley as their Worcestershire destination.

Botham, 62 and now a cricket commentator, and Londoner Johnston teamed up with three amateurs on the 18th hole for a Texas scramble format.

A club spokesman said: "Sir Ian said he was very impressed with his large gin and tonic and Beef the golfer said the course was looking lovely and the views were stunning."

All-rounder Botham played for Worcestershire from 1987 until 1991.
