Hill are proving hard to climb in division


ASHTON-under-Hill stretched their lead at the top of Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League Division Three with an emphatic 7-1 win over Tewkesbury Town.

Matt Ross netted a treble with further goals from Watkins (2), Nicholls and Mayo.

A first-half strike from Woods maintained Fladbury Athletic’s promotion hopes against WMK, while Northway saw off Badsey Rec 5-0.

Broadway United Reserves were left to rue a late penalty miss as they were edged out 3-2 at Lenches Lions.

Division Four leaders Black Bear hit nine without reply against Badsey.

Fish and Anchor are third, defeating George and Dragon 3-1 with goals from Keen (2) and Lewis. Hart replied.

Halcyon Swans earned a much-needed 4-2 win against Ambassador Reserves.

Morgan (2), Westlake and Harkins scored for Swan with Boulter and Keen striking back.

Evesham WMC gained much-needed points in their Division One relegation battle with Golden Cross.

Bretforton Old Boys increased their lead at the top as Clarke and Layton scored twice in a 5-1 win over Mickleton Rangers.

Red Horse reached the Worcestershire FA Junior Cup last four with a penalty shoot-out win at Meadow Park.

Crowle put 10 past Ambassador in the Pershore Hospital Junior Cup, while Alderton and Eckington reached the Minor Cup last four.
