TERRY Jenkins faces the daunting task of facing Whyte and Mackay Premier League leader Phil Taylor in Brighton tomorrow night.
Jenkins sits fifth in the table with just one win in five matches to his name.
That came against Adrian Lewis in Belfast and the Ledbury thrower will be looking for a repeat against Taylor.
World champion Taylor goes into the match having won both the Players’ Championship and UK Open qualifier in Wigan last weekend.
In contrast, Jenkins reached the last 32 of the Players Championship before being eliminated in the last 16 of the third UK Open qualifier 24 hours later.
He defeated Mark Lawrence 6-5 and Colin Monk 6-4 before losing 6-3 to Andy Hamilton in the Players’ Championship.
In the UK Open qualifier, he saw off Jimmy Mann 6-4, Steve Evans 6-1 and Lawrence 6-1 but was beaten 6-4 by Canadian John Part.
Droitwich’s Dave Honey was beaten 6-3 by John Quantock in the preliminary round of the Players’ Championship.
