Brackley Town 1, Evesham Utd 2 EVESHAM overcame the loss of goalkeeper Nathan Vaughan 18 minutes from time to collect three more points in pursuit of promotion.

The goalkeeper was red carded after a fracas with Matt Murphy and his dismissal left the visitors hanging on grimly.

Replacement keeper Paul Dipple produced a fine stop from the last kick of the game to prevent Tom Winters levelling but a draw was the least the battling visitors deserved.

Simon Fitter gave the Robins a 20th minute lead with what is becoming his trademark free-kick and Troy Wood made it 2-0 after 69 minutes netting from close-range after Fitter's sliced shot had fallen kindly for him.

Vaughan had produced a series of fine stops to keep out the league leaders but he let himself - and his teammates - down after he appeared to head butt Murphy after the pair had clashed.

Fitter and Steven Hands both cleared efforts off the line but young Dipple could do nothing about a cracker from Les Hines four minutes from time that set-up a frantic finale.
