BROMSGROVE Rovers can devote their efforts to finishing runners-up in Southern League Division One Midlands after securing their place in the play-offs.

Despite losing 2-1 at Aylesbury on Saturday, there are not enough games for the chasing pack to catch Rod Brown's second-placed side.

However, assistant boss John Snape believes the team still need another four points from their two remaining fixtures to be certain of ending the season just behind champions Brackley Town.

Snape, who returns from a three-game ban, said: "We are now in the play-offs for definite. Now we want to secure that second spot and we have got two games left to do that."

Rovers play their last home league match on Saturday when Woodford United visit (3pm).

Centre-half Carl Heeley is expected to be fit after coming through Paul Carty's testimonial on Monday unscathed following a foot injury.

However, Rapinder Gill is a doubt following the recurrence of a hamstring injury that forced him out of the Aylesbury match at half-time.

Fellow defender Stuart Skidmore (knee) also remains a doubt, while Danny Scheppel has a foot complaint.

Striker Neil Davis could miss the rest of the season with a troublesome hamstring, while Rovers also have captain Mark Taylor sidelined with a broken arm.

Whoever starts against Woodford, Snape reckons Rovers need to improve on their performance against the Ducks.

He said: "We were disappointing against Aylesbury on Saturday. We didn't start very well and scored against the run of play to make it 1-1.

"We huffed and puffed in the second-half but didn't take our chances, which has been the story of the last month."
