WORCESTER gained a 57-shot victory 126-69 over visitors Gloucester City.

The game was played as two wood triples as due to a misunderstanding the visitors arrived with each member only having two bowls.

After a close first five ends Worcester picked up a five and two fours to go 15 ahead at nine ends.

The hosts increased their advantage and with two ends left led by 53 after two fives and a four.

They finished with four winning triples and one tied.

With two home triples only conceding shots on five ends Colin Hemming’s trio won by 20 after picking up two fours.

Sue Hall’s triple triumphed by 19 after a five and two threes.

Other victories came from Arthur Jackson (11) and Mike Bullock (10).

Worcester suffered a 20-shot defeat 89-69 at Littleton who won four of the five triples.

After five ends Worcester trailed by two although they picked up a five but Littleton replied with a four and two threes.

On the eighth end the hosts took an advantage after a sharp rain shower and in windy conditions.

They picked up a seven and two fours to lead by 15 and increased their advantage.

Worcester replied with a six and four on the 14th end but to no avail.

Worcester’s only success came from Andy Cook’s trio who after taking an early 10-shot lead then conceded a seven but hung on to win by the odd shot.
