A RICH Smith double gave Worcester Raiders a 2-1 home win over Gornal Athletic in West Midlands League Division One.
Claines Lane-based Raiders are fourth in the table ahead of Saturday's trip to Kington Town (3pm).
It was also a good day for local rivals Bromyard Town who thrashed Bustleholme 6-2.
Pershore Town relinquished a two-goal lead in a 3-2 home defeat to Bromsgrove Sporting in the Polymac Packaging League Cup first round.
Daniel Priest and Pav Tomczak put Town ahead late in the first half.
But goals from Robbie Bunn, Sean Brain and Jason Cowley ensured victory despite Toby Wilcox saving a penalty from Connor Beard.
Droitwich Spa had their second penalty shoot-out in four days but this time lost 5-4 at higher-ranked AFC Wulfrunians in the cup.
James Lemon equalised for Spa in injury-time.
Dan Sweeney (2), Alex Perry and Matt Fulloway helped Stourport Swifts to a 4-2 win over Cadbury Athletic.
