PERSHORE Town's squad is stretched to its limits but boss Quentin Townsend insists his players will relish their pursuit of silverware.

Town head to Bilston Town Community tonight (7.45) in the hope of reaching the last eight of the Smedley Crooke Memorial Cup.

And with all bar two of the remaining clubs plying their trade at lower levels, Townsend and his troops have their eyes firmly fixed on the prize.

“This is our only chance of a bit of silverware this season and when you look at the rest of the teams left in it, the majority are from lower levels," said Townsend.

“It is a good opportunity to progress in this cup and maybe to win it.

“Most of the lads realise we won’t challenge in the league this time and want the chance to go for a trophy and I get the sense everyone is looking forward to it. I certainly am.

“We will be light on numbers because a few of the recent signings have already played in this cup but we will have a strong XI at the very least."

Elsewhere, Littleton host Malvern Town in the Worcester Royal Infirmary Cup (7.45) at Five Acres.
