DROITWICH Rugby Club progressed to the semi-final of the RFU Intermediate Cup with an impressive 34-10 victory over Crewe and Nantwich.

Pete Knight bagged two tries while Nico Mason, Josh Lippett and Matt Handford also crossed the whitewash in the success at The Glyn Mitchell Memorial Ground.

Director of rugby Adam Drew said he was “over the moon” with his side’s display as Droitwich continued their scintillating form.

“I thought we outplayed them in the first half,” Drew said.

“The whole team played well, so it would be wrong to single anyone out for praise.

“A lot of effort has gone in to what we have achieved so far.

“We will be beaten, but it is about how you respond in training and we are getting stronger and stronger.

“We are not big-headed, we are a resilient team who play what is in front of us.”

Droitwich are top of Midlands Two West (South) after winning their first seven games and will look to extend that run when they host third-placed Kenilworth on Saturday.
