KIDDERMINSTER Harriers battled to a 2-1 National League North victory at Curzon Ashton thanks to George Waring's winner 10 minutes from time.

Skipper Ryan Croasdale handed Harriers a 50th-minute lead from Mani Sonupe's pass before the hosts hit back through Jonathan Hunt's header.

Sub Waring, on loan from Tranmere Rovers, made sure his side bagged their first win away from Aggborough in nine attempts by rounding the keeper to score following Dan Bradley's through-ball.

Harriers have not lost in 17 league games since September 12 and went up to fourth in the table ahead of Saturday's trip to play-off rivals Spennymoor Town.

Kidderminster manager John Eustace said: “We were great. The lads could have easily gone under after conceding but we got stronger.

“It was a tough game. As long as we’re competitive in every match, hopefully we can do well.

“We weren’t clinical enough in the first half which has been a problem for us away from home.

“But we scored two great goals in the second half.”
