HEREFORD FC have reached the summit of the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division table for the first time after comfortably beating Dunstable Town 4-0.

The Bulls went close to opening the scoring on six minutes but Jamie Bird rattled the bar.

But Pete Beadle’s visitors took the lead in the 26th minute when Purdie stabbed the ball home after being set up by former Worcester City forward Mike Symons.

And it was 2-0 just six minutes later when ex-Evesham United striker Smith slotted home when through on goal.

Purdie was denied before Smith rattled the bar with a header just before half-time.

Hereford sealed the win with two further goals after the break.

Green nodded home after Dara O’Shea headed across a corner with 13 minutes remaining before Richards fired home in stoppage time.
