FOUR of the world’s leading snooker players are in Malvern tonight as the Party Poker.com Premier League rolls into town.
World number one Mark Selby, four-time world champion John Higgins, Ding Junhui and Stephen Lee will all be in action at Malvern Theatres in the Sky Sports-televised event from 7.30pm.
It is the first time the competition, which features 10 players split into two groups, has been hosted in the county for three years and tonight is the sixth of 10 dates before the top two in each section progress to the play-offs.
Selby takes on Chinese ace Ding in Group ‘A’, while Higgins meets Lee in Group ‘B’ with both matches played over six frames carrying two points for a win and one for a draw.
While Selby is chasing his first success having lost 5-1 against Neil Robertson, Ding has beaten Shaun Murphy and lost to Stuart Bingham. Higgins overcame Mark Allen in his only match but Lee lost to Judd Trump and Peter Ebdon.
Tickets, costing £18 and £15 for concessions, are available on 01684-892277 or via malvern-theatres.co.uk.
