WORCESTERSHIRE will hope for better luck with the weather tomorrow when they are scheduled to start a two-day red-ball practice match with Gloucestershire at Bristol.
Overnight rain led to an early call-off of today’s scheduled 50-over friendly at the same venue and left the ground saturated in parts.
County head coach Kevin Sharp had intended to give all members of the 15-man squad chosen for the games the opportunity to play in at least one of the two matches.
Ross Whiteley returns to County action fresh from his winter exploits in the Bangladesh Premier League, the inaugural T10 tournament in Sharjah and Pakistan Super League.
Sharp has already indicated Whiteley will form part of the bowling plans this summer.
Worcestershire's County Championship Division One season starts at Hampshire on Friday, April 13.
Worcestershire: Mitchell, Rhodes, Fell, Westbury, Barnard, Cox, Whiteley, Leach, Twohig, Tongue, Magoffin.
