TOM Kohler-Cadmore will have his head shaved tomorrow in support of Worcestershire team-mate Tom Fell - but he has already been overwhelmed by the money raised for Cancer Research.

Kohler-Cadmore revealed that £1,500 has already been pledged after his decision to back his great friend and house-mate Fell, who has been diagnosed with testicular and then lymph node cancer and has just had the second of three bouts of chemotherapy.

But there has also been widespread social networking in support of Kohler-Cadmore's actions, including from England players James Taylor, Alex Hales, Sam Billings and New Road colleague Moeen Ali.

He will have his head initially shaved in the Graeme Hick Pavilion at the close of play on day one of the County Championship match with Kent and will keep his hair off throughout the 2016 season.

Kohler-Cadmore is hoping to raise at least £5,000 for Cancer Research and donations can be made via the link justgiving.com/tom-kohler-cadmore He said: "We've managed to raise around £1,500 so far, which is fantastic and a bit of a shock really.

"I set a target of £5,000, a random figure I picked out, but any money raised is awesome and I'm really grateful for people supporting the cause.

"A lot of people have been affected by it (cancer) in their life and if they haven't, they probably will at some point. The more that can be done to hopefully beat this disease the better.

"I've had a lot of social media publicity and networking from people in the game, England boys like James Taylor, Alex Hales, Moeen Ali and Sam Billings who has also donated. The PCA have also helped greatly.

"Everyone has helped in getting it out there and it's really kind of them."

Kohleer-Cadmore added: "The first shaving of my head will happen at close of play on Sunday in the Hick Pavilion.

"Maybe it will be a barber or maybe it will be one of the players. They can't mess it up too bad. It's not like a normal haircut! I intend to keep it off throughout the summer."

Kohler-Cadmore was delighted to see Fell in the New Road nets at the start of the week before he underwent his second bout of chemotherapy.

He said: "Tom was saying earlier in the week that he feels pretty good. He misses it up here. When he is up here, it makes his life seem more kind of normal being with the boys and joining in.

"He is laidback anyway. With some people you may notice their energy levels are low whereas with him he seems normal!

"In all seriousness, all the boys wish him well and he is staying really positive."
