JOE Clarke will be hoping for a bigger role with the England Lions one-day squad after again being left out of the team for the second Test with Sri Lanka 'A' in Dambulla.

The Worcestershire batsman's focus will switch to the five 50-over clashes against the same opponents in between March 2 and 11.

Clarke played as wicket-keeper in the warm up match against a President's X1 and took six catches and a stumping but scored only 10 in both innings.

He was not chosen for the Lions victory in the first Test and has suffered the same fate for the second four-day encounter of the tour.

The 50-over series begins at the same venue on March 2.

After the Sri Lankan tour, Clarke will link up with the North squad in the UAE for the three match series against the South.

But there has been an enforced changed to the South squad with Middlesex paceman Toby Roland-Jones replacing injury Kent bowler Matt Coles.
