WORCESTERSHIRE duo Vik-ram Solanki and Kabir Ali have paid for their indifferent performances in England's 5-0 whitewash by Sri Lanka by being overlooked in England's 16-man squad for the one-day series against Pakistan.
Kabir came in for fierce criticism after his lack-lustre performances against Sri Lanka and has struggled with in-juries so would not be too surprised by his omission.
But Solanki has been in good form for the County and will be disappointed to have been overlooked.
There is a recall, however, for veteran paceman Darren Gough, while uncapped fast bowler Stuart Broad is also in the squad.
Gough is recalled for his first England appearance in over a year and, providing he overcomes a recent shin-splint problem, will add to his record of 157 one-day international appearances.
