MORE than 3,000 Worcester City fans will be flocking to the Ricoh Arena tomorrow to cheer on their side against former FA Cup winners Coventry City (2pm).

Around 2,500 tickets have already been snapped up by Blue and Whites’ supporters for the first round tie, says City company secretary John Jordan.

City will be running 12 fully-booked official supporters’ coaches and just 500 match tickets remain on sale at Worcester Tourist Information Centre.

“We will be somewhere near the 3,000 tickets mark by Saturday lunchtime but there are a lot of people who will pay at the gate on Sunday,” said Jordan.

Duo Wayne Thomas and Danny Jackman could hold the key to City’s fortunes, says city manager Carl Heeley.

“The most two experienced players in our squad are Thomas and Jackman and they have played in big matches like this a number of times in their careers,” said Heeley. “They are both great lads and their experience on an occasion like this will be vital to the younger players in our squad.

“But we have a confident bunch of lads and I am sure they will not be overawed by the occasion.”

City’s defence might have to contend with giant Coventry striker Frank Nouble, who is on loan from Ipswich Town and been granted permission to play in the tie.

Nouble, a former Chelsea trainee, made his Premier League debut with West Ham United and has bagged three goals in six appearances for the League One outfit.

Pressley had a spy in the camp when the Blue and Whites played out a 2-2 draw at Leamington last Saturday and arranged to have the entire match filmed.

“You should never underestimate these games because they’re all potential banana skins where the pressure is all on us. We’re expected to win these games and quite rightly so,” said Pressley,.

“If we do the job properly and to the best of our ability then we should win the game.”
