WORCESTER City supporters will not be given any more tickets for their FA Cup second-round tie at Scunthorpe United.

City sold their 2,200 allocation within a week and hoped more tickets would be available for supporters wanting to cheer on Carl Heeley’s side.

The tie, on Sunday, December 7, has been made an all-ticket affair.

A Scunthorpe United spokesman yesterday confirmed City’s allocation would not be increased.

“There will be no more tickets for Worcester City fans,” said the club spokesman.

“We have given Worcester City their full allocation and it won’t be extended.”

Tickets for Scunthorpe supporters will remain on sale at the club’s ticket office until 2pm on the day of the match.

The news will disappoint the Blue and Whites, who took more than 3,200 fans to Coventry City for their 2-1 first-round derby victory at the Ricoh Arena.

Still, City will be backed by the largest away following this term at Scunthorpe’s Glanford Park ground, a 9,000-capacity stadium.

Scunthorpe’s biggest League One home gate this term has been 5,420 for the visit from regional rivals Doncaster Rovers and was swelled by 1,728 travelling fans.

The strugglers’ eight home league matches this season have attracted 28,748 spectators with an average attendance of 3,594.

City should be full of confidence for the tie after extending their unbeaten run to 11 league and cup matches.

Heeley’s men recorded an impressive 3-0 victory at Harrogate Town on Saturday in the Vanarama Conference North.

Two goals from second-half substitute Daniel Nti and a sublime effort from two-goal cup hero Sean Geddes overpowered Harrogate.

It was City’s seventh win in their last nine matches and they can seemingly do no wrong.
