DANIEL Nti says team spirit remains high at Worcester City despite their recent dip in form.

The Blue and Whites head into tomorrow's match against Hednesford Town at Aggborough (3pm) without a goal in five games.

It has seen them drop to 12th in the Conference North table and further away from the play-off positions.

But Nti insists the players remain united and are intent on getting back on track following back-to-back defeats against Gloucester City and Bradford Park Avenue.

"Nobody likes losing games but in football you have highs and lows, it's how we ride them and pick ourselves up," the striker said.

"Everyone is positive and sticking together as a team and that's the most important thing."

City are also out to set the record straight against the Pitmen after the original fixture on Boxing Day was abandoned with the hosts trailing 3-0.

Carl Heeley's side were also held to a goalless stalemate at Keys Park on New Year's Day without registering a serious shot on target.

Nti, who has nine goals to his name but hasn't scored since the 1-1 FA Cup draw at Scunthorpe United, said: "We have had time to reflect on what has been going on and we have tried to put it right in training.

"Hopefully we can make it right against Hednesford because Boxing Day didn't go to plan.

"We have played against them since but we just want to go out there and show what we are capable of and that even though the last few games haven't gone to plan we can still compete and hopefully push up the table."

City have been in talks with a potential new signing since the Gloucester defeat on Sunday but have so far not reached an agreement. Heeley is keen to bulk up his team in a bid to stop them being "bullied" by opponents and it is thought a deal could be done before tomorrow.

But Jacob Rowe produced another sterling effort alongside Graham Hutchison and will be hoping to keep his place in the back four.
