WORCESTER City have swooped to secure the return of the versatile Aaron Brown to the Vanarama Conference North club.

The 6ft 5ins Brown, 31, will add a much-needed physical presence in the centre of City's midfield but can also play in defence or attack.

He left the Aggborough tenants for Solihull Moors in the summer after making a big impact but is back in time for tomorrow's rearranged league match at home to Hednesford Town (3pm).

City manager Carl Heeley said: "With the loss of George Williams, Tyler Weir and Jordan Murphy, we have lost our attacking flair.

"We need an impact player who can battle for us and add something to the team now the pitches have changed.

"We are also looking to bring in another forward but it would be unlikely to happen before the weekend."

Wolverhampton-born Brown has previously been on the books at City's landlords Kidderminster Harriers as well as playing in the Football League for the likes of Yeovil Town, Leyton Orient and Preston North End.

The former England 'C' international's career really took off when he impressed for Tamworth and was snapped up by Reading in 2005.

After leaving Worcester for league rivals Solihull, Brown struggled to get games and moved on to play for Rushall Olympic in the Evo-Stik Northern League Premier Division but was sent off on his debut.
