STRIKER Daniel Nti says Worcester City head to Boston United in good spirits despite back-to-back home defeats.

The Blue and Whites saw their unbeaten four-match run in Conference North ended with the 4-0 loss to Fylde and 2-0 reverse against Barrow.

But Nti reckons they can take heart for the trip to Lincolnshire tomorrow (3pm) from the performance against the latter, which saw them improved markedly on the Fylde match.

City have also scored nine goals in their last three away games, winning 4-1 and 2-0 at Solihull Moors and Colwyn Bay and drawing 3-3 at Chorley.

Nti said: “We knew the two games would be very hard matches and we prepared ourselves for that. We weren’t preparing ourselves to fail, we were preparing to put ourselves in good stead because Barrow and Fylde are up there for a good reason.

“I don’t think the mood in the camp has changed, we showed good fight in the Barrow game and the two goals were our mistakes.”

He continued: “At the start of the season we weren’t picking up points on the road but we are doing well now and we also want to carry that on at home and climb the table.”

While City have found their scoring touch away from Aggborough, they are coming up against a play-off chasing Boston side who have racked up five goals in five of their last seven matches at the Jakemans Stadium.

But Nti said: “We just go there to play the game. We can’t really look at their past games and we know we have got a strong defence.”

Worcester’s last trip to Boston came back in August 2013 when they lost 2-1 with Nti scoring the consolation goal.

He was also on the scoresheet when City drew 1-1- with the Pilgrims at Aggborough in September.

“I am happy to be scoring goals,” Nti added. “I would like to have scored more but there are a few games to go and hopefully I can score some more to put us in good stead for the rest of the season.”

Centre-half Aaron Brown is back in contention having completed his two-game ban but Shabir Khan still has two more to serve.

Tyler Weir could also start at left-back in place of Anthony Charles after appearing as a second-half substitute against Barrow.

But midfielder Connor Gater (groin) and keeper Nathan Vaughan (foot) continue to be sidelined along with midfielder Danny Jackman (ankle).

Boston were 2-1 winners over Lincolnshire rivals Gainsborough Trinity last weekend and are bidding for a fifth straight victory.
