WORCESTER City joint- manager Carl Heeley is “very hopeful” of adding another new player to the club’s ranks this week.

Heeley and Matt Gardiner have already captured three new signings and are expected to tie up a deal with defender Tyler Weir.

And Heeley is close to bringing another new face to the Aggborough-based National League North club.

“We have managed to get three new players on board for next season and I am very hopeful of another one this week,” said Heeley.

The Worcester boss is confident that Daniel Nti will be wearing City’s colours next season.

“We have had a positive conversation and Daniel wants to stay at the club but he’s away at the moment,”

revealed Heeley. “I am very hopeful that Nti will stay at Worcester.”

Heeley also gave an update on Ellis Deeney, who has made a big impression at Worcester.

“Ellis Deeney has made no secret of his desire to play full-time football,” said Heeley.

“But the reality is there are thousands of other footballers who also dream of doing that, so there’s a lot of com - petition for clubs.

“If something comes up then Ellis would leave with our very best wishes, but if it doesn’t, we would be happy for him to remain at the club.

Ellis knows we would be de - lighted to keep him at the club.”

But the future of Jacob Rowe remains unclear.

“Jacob is going travelling and he’s going to be back in early August, so he will miss the start of the season,” said Heeley.

“He’s now finished univer - sity and we would like him to come back. He will be seeking employment and a lot will depend where he gets work and where he will be living.”

City have clinched the sig ings of 27-year-old left-back Darren Campion, a former Hednesford Town skipper; centre-half Alex Gudger from Rugby Town and striker Ryan Rowe from Brackley Town.
