WORCESTER City forward Daniel Nti is poised to sign a new deal with the National League North club.

Nti bagged 15 goals in 49 appearances for City last term and says he’s “very likely” to be penning a new deal with the Blue and Whites.

The news will be a boost for City supporters, who are also waiting to hear whether defend - er Tyler Weir has pledged his future to the club.

Nti said: “We are still discuss - ing the terms of the contract and it’s highly likely I will be with Worcester City next sea son. I am just taking my time over things and having a break from football at the moment, but it’s very likely I will be signng for City.

“Everyone wants to go into full-time football and, for my own development, I believe it’s important for me to have another good season under my belt.”

Nti has made a big impression at City since notching 16 goals in his debut campaign after joining from Midland Alliance outfit Loughborough University.

“I am developing as a player under the management and I am happy at the club and, hopefully, I can continue to develop as a player and help the team progress further,” he said.

“If we can keep the group of players from last season and add a few new faces then I am sure we can continue to kick on.”

Nti, who lives in Milton Keynes, says he is learning his trade and getting accustomed to playing on the wing.

“I think I have developed as a player and I just need to keep developing and push on to higher leagues, hopefully, with Worcester,” he said.

“I have achieved a bit but I think I can do better in terms of scoring.

“I am a striker and the man - agement have turned me into a winger.

“I prefer to be up front but I don’t mind where I play as long as I am on the pitch.”

The forward has been keep - ing a watchful eye on the close- season developments at City, including the signing of strik - er Ryan Rowe from Brackley Town.

“I have seen we have signed a new left-back in Darren Cam - pion, a new centre-back in Alex Gudger and Ryan Rowe. I have played against Ryan and a few of the lads at Worcester know him and he seems a really good player.”

Nti is now looking forward to a couple of trips abroad before pre-season gets under way.

He is planning to watch his friend, Leicester City’s Jeff Schlupp, in action for Ghana on Sunday in an African Cup of Nations qualifier against Mau - ritius before heading to Mar - bella with friends.
