CARL Heeley admits he and joint Worcester manager Matt Gardiner face a selection headache ahead of tonight’s National League North trip to neighbours Solihull Moors.

City produced a dazzling second-half display to come from behind and beat Lowestoft Town 2-1 on Saturday even though they played the majority of the game with just ten men after debutant Ashley Vincent was sent off.

While the temptation must be to keep with a winning side, there are a number of players returning from injury and holiday waiting on the sidelines.

One of the key decisions will be at right-back. Midfielder George Nash excelled after slotting in there at the weekend but Tyler Weir is also keen to make his return while new signing Sam Minihan is available again after his holiday ruled him out of the opening three matches.

And if City revert to a back-three which served them so well at Gainsborough then Keiran Morris could come back into contention along with former Solihull Moors defender Rob Elvins.

The pair were unused substitutes at the weekend.

Heeley said: “George Nash is an intelligent footballer and good footballers can play anywhere.

“He’s comfortable on the ball, tenacious and works hard. We asked him to do a job there and I thought he was magnificent.

“Tyler Weir wanted to play but the responsible thing is to listen to the medics and we were never going to risk him.

I think Tuesday night will come a bit too soon so we’ll wait and see.

“Sam Minihan will be back and we will have competition for places but we will go to Solihull with a little bit more confidence after this win.”

One player who may return to the squad is striker Tristian Dunkley who missed the Lowestoft game through illness. But with Vincent set for a ban following his red card, the former Loughborough University forward could be handed his chance, albeit from the bench.

Heeley added: “Tristan was ill in the week with sickness and diarrhoea so we left him out. You look at what we’ve got and we have some selection problems.”

While City were picking up their first win of the season on Saturday, Solihull Moors were dropping their first points in a 1-1 draw at North Ferriby United, a late James Armison goal earning them a share of the spoils.

But they are still among the early frontrunners having won their first two matches – against AFC Fylde and Boston United.
