6 Vaughan – Did all that was asked of him and could do little about the three goals. Claimed the high balls but a few wayward kicks towards the end.
7 Weir – Fine solid display on his return from injury and showed his intent with a crunching challenge inside the opening minutes. The pick of the back-four and had the assist with the opening goal.
5 Campion – Disappointing from a player who has impressed since arriving in the summer. Struggled all afternoon to deal with Chorley wideman Josh Hine.
6 Gudger – Powerful as always in the air but was caught out positionally at times. Could have done better with the last goal.
5 McDonald – An off-day for the big man at the back. Headed into his own net and then substituted midway through the second-half.
6 Elvins – Making his first start of the season, he put in a shift and made some vital blocks. On the downside he gave the ball away too often and was culpable in part for Chorley’s winner.
8 NTI – Another man-of-the-match display as he capped a solid performance with two excellent goals, including a Geddes-esque free-kick.
6 Deeney – Started the game in a more advanced role but returned to his more customary holding role in the second-half. Decent and steady.
5 Spencer – Was given a first start but failed to shine as the lone striker. Not helped by a hefty early challenge and made way early in the second-half.
4 Geddes – A day to forget for the little magician who was not at his best and his set-piece delivery was unusually astray. All compounded by his sending off 10 minutes from time.
7 Nash – Fast becoming Worcester’s Mr Reliable. Another excellent display in a deep defensive role and was a catalyst for City’s best work. Sacrificed for a second striker.
