SUMMER signing Ryan Rowe has followed Rob Elvins out of the exit door at Worcester City.

Rowe has been snapped up by Telford United, who are the only side keeping City off the bottom of Vanarama National League North at the moment.

The 27-year-old replaced the released Mike Symons as Worcester looked to go with a different approach up-front but the move did not pay off despite the striker scoring in the first two league games against Gainsborough Trinity and Tamworth.

City joint managers Carl Heeley and Matt Gardiner have signed three experienced strikers recently in Lee Hughes, Deon Burton and Shaun Harrad with young Nottingham Forest loanee Nikolay Todorov returning to the City Ground.

Former Kidderminster Harriers forward Rowe joins ex-Worcester left-back Darren Campion at Rob Smith’s Telford.

But the versatile Elvins, who was substituted in last Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Curzon Ashton at Aggborough and later released by City, has decided not to join Telford.

He signed registration paperwork but changed his mind due to “work commitments”.

Teenager Dean Waldron has returned to City from his loan at Northern Premier League side Halesowen Town to take his place in the engine room and is set to figure again at Corby Town in the league tomorrow (3pm).

He will be joined in the squad by new goalkeeper James Severn, 23, who has agreed terms with Worcester after training with them.

The former Derby County and Scunthorpe United custodian arrives after Dan Lloyd-Weston injured his shoulder in the 2-1 midweek defeat at Alfreton Town.

City’s other keeper Nathan Vaughan has seen his appearances restricted by work commitments.

Forward Dan Nti (dead leg) and Tyler Weir (calf) are doubts for tomorrow’s game in Northamptonshire.

Young Leicester City loanee Aaron Hassall is expected to make his Corby debut in midfield.
