WORCESTER City have bolstered their board with joint manager Carl Heeley one of five new directors joining behind the scenes.

Sponsor Martin Pinches has also climbed on board along with Worcester City Supporters' Trust representatives Rob Crean, Jeremy Pitt and Julian Pugh.

City say the appointments will help towards the aim of bringing Kidderminster Harriers' tenants back home to play their football.

The Vanarama National League North club have also organised an annual general meeting for the new year on Thursday, January 28, at The Whitehouse Hotel, Foregate Street, Worcester, at 7.30pm.

A City statement said: "The board of directors have recently agreed to strengthen the board with the addition of five new directors to complement the existing board.

"In order to work more closely with the supporters’ trust, the board have agreed to a request from the trust that Rob Crean, Jeremy Pitt and Julian Pugh join the board.

"To further strengthen the board, Carl Heeley and Martin Pinches have also accepted invitations to join.

"Bringing Worcester City back to the city of Worcester is fundamental to the longer-term aims and future prosperity of the football club. This is a vision shared by everyone connected with the football club.

"All of the new appointments bring with them skills and expertise, which will be vital to helping to deliver this vision for the future.

"The board believe these appointments are an extremely positive step forward and will be of great benefit to the football club.

"The chairman (Anthony Hampson) and existing directors would like to welcome the new board members and look forward to working with them in the future."

Further details of the annual meeting and papers will be circulated to shareholders in early January.

Admission to the meeting will be strictly on production of share certificates or some other form of identification that matches the details on the company’s share register.

On the pitch, joint managers Heeley and Matt Gardiner take City to Brackley Town on Saturday in the FA Trophy third qualifying round (3pm).
