WORCESTER City supporters looking to travel to the Victoria Ground by car next season have received a boost after the club secured “a large amount of free parking” in Bromsgrove.

The Artrix and Heart of Worcestershire College have agreed to allow City supporters to use their car parks on matchdays for free.

The Artrix, who hold around 180 spaces, and Heart of Worcestershire College, who has around 90 spaces, can be found off Slideshow Drive and School Drive.

It takes about seven minutes to walk to the Victoria Ground where City will be playing their home games for the 2016/17 campaign.

Kev Preece, who is the club's safety officer and supporters’ trust director, is currently holding further talks with businesses in the area in a bid to secure use of more spaces in the future.

Preece said: “With the help of Bromsgrove Sporting’s safety officer, I have been able to secure a large amount of free parking on matchdays near to the Victoria Ground.

“Positive talks were held with The Artrix and Heart of Worcestershire College who will allow supporters to use their car parks on matchdays at no cost.

“We have been told however, that should there be any events at either of these sites that parking would be limited.

“The club will soon be obtaining lists of any up and coming events and ensure all supporters know about these prior.

“Although there are currently no charges planned, either site may charge for use of their land in the future.

“At this moment in time, however, we have obtained the parking spaces for free use.”
