WORCESTER City have “no immediate plans” to bring back Nathan Olukanmi after he agreed to stay at Leamington on a dual registration deal.

The pacey winger has struggled to make an impact at the Vanarama National League North club since earning a contract in August.

The 23-year-old former Aston Villa and Wycombe Wanderers trainee made six substitute appearances before being shipped out on loan to Leamington last month.

And manager Carl Heeley admitted he was “happy” for Olukanmi to remain at the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division leaders.

Heeley also revealed City had cut ties with Elijah Chilewka “a number of weeks ago”. The 18-year-old attacker joined the club in the summer, but Heeley said travelling was a “major problem” for the Cardiff-based player.

“Elijah was released as I told him a number of weeks ago that he needed to get regular football,” Heeley said.

“I didn’t see him figuring at Worcester and the same goes with Nathan.

“He has gone out on a dual registration so we will keep in touch with Leamington.

“But I am happy for him to stay out there and continue playing as I have no immediate plans to bring him back.”

Worcester have strengthened their attacking options with the signing of versatile forward Connor Hughes from Halifax Town.

Heeley, who has also got Jordan Murphy, Chekaine Steele, Cieron Keane and Micah Evans vying for a place on the wing, continued: “Our wingers have got a good player in Connor trying to get their shirt and that’s the same as the forwards.

“We want competition for places as we have ambitions to improve.

“We don’t want to just stand still and accept things, I want to continue to improve.”
