CENTRE-back Graham Hutchison insists Worcester City have got “nothing to fear” as they bid to topple leaders AFC Fylde at the Victoria Ground tomorrow (3pm).

The Lancashire visitors sit four points clear at Vanarama National League North’s summit with a game in hand on closest rivals Chorley after a “flying” start to the campaign.

At times the Coasters, whose only defeat came at Tamworth in October, have seemingly scored goals for fun as they thrashed Boston United 9-2 and put five past Stalybridge Celtic last month.

However, Hutchison, pictured right, believes all the pressure will be on Fylde and he is “confident” 13th-placed City can go toe-to-toe with their lofty opponents.

“They are flying and have been absolutely battering everyone but they will be coming down with pressure on their shoulders,” said the 23-year-old, who is set to start alongside Tom Sharpe tomorrow.

“They have got a big budget and are full-time, so there will be no pressure on us.

“We have got lads who will be fresh and champing at the bit, so we will go out there with nothing to fear and hopefully get a good result.”

Hutchison says manager Carl Heeley and assistant boss John Snape will have a “game-plan” to see off Fylde and feels they have the experience in the side, with the likes of Lee Hughes, Junior English and Danny Jackman, to be “prepared for anything” on the day.

“I am always confident we can go out against anyone and get a win,” he continued.

”We beat Coventry at the Ricoh Arena (in 2014), so we know it comes down to one afternoon and the best team will take it on the day.

“And, with the players we have got in the squad, we are a match for anyone.”

City have won their last three home games and the former Birmingham City youngster reckons their lopsided pitch, which he describes as “the hill”, could have a bearing on the result.

“It is our patch so we don’t want anyone coming over and thinking they can just rock up and have an easy ride,” Hutchison said.

“We want to win every game at home and make it a tough place for teams to come to.

“The hill is not something teams have been able to handle but we are used to it and feel like we have got a formula to get the best out of ourselves on it.”

Hutchison and the rest of City’s back four are set to have a busy afternoon trying to keep a tight rein on in-form striker Danny Rowe, who has scored 28 goals this season.

But the Scot, who rejoined Worcester in the summer after a frustrating stint at Halifax Town and a loan spell at AFC Telford United last season, says he is up for the challenge.

“It does not matter whether I am playing against Danny or anyone else, my job is to keep the strikers out,” he said.

“I played against him last season and clearly he has turned it up another gear this year.

“But I will be doing everything I can to try to keep him out.”
