City (4-4-2)

7 ROSS – thrust into action due to Vaughan’s delay in getting to the game the young stopper made several good saves, including denying Jason Walker from the spot. My man of the match.

7 Chambers – another dominant display from the defender who won a number of headers and made some important interceptions.

6 Oji – had a busy afternoon but looked vulnerable at times and his slip almost saw the hosts add a second at the death.

7 Hutchison – did well to combat the aerial threat of Chorley who threw everything at City and should have had more goals to show for their efforts.

6 Weir – a typically dogged display from the full-back who fought hard until the final whistle but did not have much joy going forward.

6 Nelson-Addy – a mixed afternoon for the midfielder who conceded a penalty when he tripped Blakeman before creating City’s best chance with a superb cross for Muskwe.

5 Jackman – suffering from a slight strain heading into the match the captain struggled to stamp his authority as Chorley bossed possession.

7 Keane – a pretty solid performance from the central midfielder, showing good touches in difficult conditions and covered a lot of ground.

5 Rose – replacing Cieron Keane the youngster was often outmuscled and out-thought, providing little threat down the left.

6 Murphy – almost put Muskwe through on goal in a livelier second half but did not have a sniff at goal in the entire match.   5 Muskwe – still without a goal in City colours the striker missed a great opportunity, heading straight at Branagan when unmarked.
