WORCESTER City should “easily” win the Midland League Premier Division this season, according to former captain Danny Jackman.

The Blue and Whites are preparing to launch a tilt for the title after dropping three levels into the ninth tier of English football.

Jackman will not play for City following his departure to be a player-coach at Redditch United but he insists he will be keeping an “eye out” for his home city club’s results.

With full-back Tyler Weir committing his future despite interest from a number of high-graded clubs and ex-Premier League striker Lee Hughes leading the line Jackman is optimistic about Worcester’s chances.

“I am sure they will be fine this year,” Worcester-born midfielder Jackman, 34, said.

“They should go on to easily win that league with the players they have got and brought in.

"They will definitely be a team I keep an eye out for.

“As I am living in Worcester I can’t help but look out for all their results, hopefully they are all victories and City will be going right up to the top of the league and going well.

“I wish all the players all the best.”
