THIRD-placed Worcester City’s late winner proved crucial as leaders Coleshill Town and second-placed Bromsgrove Sporting won today.

Matt Gardner notched in stoppage time to secure Coleshill’s 2-1 win over Heanor that kept the table toppers six points clear of Sporting and eight ahead of City, albeit from two extra games.

Heanor’s Shaun Roulston netted after eight minutes but the recently-returned Jordan Nadat levelled before half-time with Gardner sealing the deal at the death.

Bromsgrove’s triumph was more comfortable with Jason Cowley’s ninth-minute strike getting the ball rolling in a 3-0 win at South Normanton Athletic.

John Pykett’s strike and a penalty from Liam Spink rubber stamped the victory that maintains a two-point cushion between the Worcestershire rivals.

Coventry United’s wobble continued with a 4-2 home defeat to AFC Wulfrunians, who themselves moved up to fifth as a result.

The match was level pegging until Mitch Evans got the first of his late brace eight minutes from time.

Doubles from Dave Meese and Kyle Brady fired Sporting Khalsa up to fourth with a 4-2 win over Westfields. Ben Miller and Alex Hainault hit back late on for the Herefordshire outfit.

Reuben Wiggins-Thomas (2) and David Kolodynski netted in the 3-0 win that saw Rugby Town climb to sixth with a 3-0 win at Boldmere St Michaels.

Shepshed Dynamo dropped from sixth to 10th as a result of their defeat at the Victoria Ground, while Tuesday’s opponents Coventry Sphinx sank from eighth to 11th after losing 3-1 at Highgate United.
