WORCESTER City defender Alexandru Albert seems set to join Cirencester Town on a dual-registration basis.

The Romanian centre-half is understood to be keen on a switch to the Southern League West outfit to cut down on travelling from his Swindon base.

Worcester will retain his Midland League registration, meaning Albert would remain eligible to feature but a deal is likely be completed in time for him to make his Ciren debut against Wimborne Town on Saturday.

The move comes days after City completed the signing of Worcester-based defender Jordan Stoddart from the Centurions, who could make his debut in Saturday's FA Vase second-round clash with Highgate United (3pm).

Albert has largely impressed in his 17 appearances since signing from West Midlands (Regional) League outfit Smethwick over the summer and arrived in the UK with a strong pedigree.

He featured in Romania’s second tier for Dinamo II București as well as spells with National Sebis and AS Nova Mama Mia.

At Smethwick, he scored four goals in 23 appearances.
