JOINT-boss John Snape lauded Worcester City for polishing a scrappy first-half display to exact revenge on Coventry United.

City turned the tables with a 3-0 win at the Victoria Ground, the same score United had inflicted on Snape’s charges in the reverse fixture back in August.

“The first half was very tight, they set out their stall to crowd the middle with a 4-5-1 against us,” said Snape.

“The pitch was a bit lively but I didn’t think we kept possession very well when we had it. We gave it away under no pressure in certain areas and it all got a bit frustrating. That final ball let us down at times.

“At half-time we felt comfortable enough but wary of that counter attack, one of which resulted in Brad Birch picking up a booking.

“It was frustrating because I think we had 70 per cent of the fouls committed against us and they didn’t get bookings.

“To be fair, we started the second half well and got ourselves in front because we closed down the ball and I felt we controlled the game from there.

“Going back to when we played at their place and had our pants pulled down second half, we probably did that to them this time.”
