WORCESTER City captain Brad Birch has signed for his former club Stourbridge.
As reported by the Worcester News yesterday, the Glassboys swooped for the midfielder who has scored seven goals in 27 appearances for hometown club City this season.
Birch follows joint-boss Lee Hughes and defender Wayne Thomas in leaving City following the announcement the club could become "fully amateur" as early as next season in a bid to cut costs.
“I had numerous conversations with clubs linked to Brad but the gut feeling was he wanted to see out the season with us,” said Worcester manager John Snape.
“That has changed over the past couple of days. He feels he wants to test himself at a higher level and his former club has given him the opportunity to do that.
“As disappointed as I am to lose him, I wish him well at Stourbridge.”
