BOSS John Snape says Brad Birch and Tyler Weir are likely to feature for Worcester City against Long Eaton United tonight (7.45).

Birch returned to Stourbridge earlier this week and played in Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat at Witton Albion in the Northern Premier League.

Weir is expected to pen terms with Redditch United in the coming hours despite interest from Chippenham Town and Cirencester Town.

Both remain registered with and would be free to play for City between now and then end of the season provided they do not sign contracts elsewhere.

Goalkeeper Nathan Vaughan, who today signed for Kidderminster Harriers, is not in contention tonight but is understood to remain eligible for City with his National North club’s permission.

“It is good for us,” said Snape. “It has been a difficult few weeks but it shows the lads still want to be a part of the club when they can.

“With two games in three days, it will help with the squad rotation and our efforts to get the right result on the back of a few changes over the past week or so.

“We do expect Tyler to have registered with another club by the close of play.

“We still have an option on the lads that have left if the opportunity is there. We will concentrate on the ones that are fully committed for the rest of the season but consider each option as it comes up.”
