THERE will be no action taken against Nathan Hayward after the fan he clashed with told Worcester City not to discipline the midfielder.

As the Worcester News reported earlier this week, Hayward was involved in an altercation with a supporter in City’s 1-1 draw with Rugby Town at the Victoria Ground last Saturday.

The captain made three gestures with his hand towards the Main Stand and had to be restrained by teammates and backroom staff from heading towards the fan as he left the pitch at full-time.

Speaking after City's 2-1 loss to Bromsgrove Sporting on Tuesday, manager John Snape said he had investigated the situation and declared the matter was now “closed”.

“I have investigated the Nathan Hayward scenario which happened on Saturday,” Snape said.

“We have had no complaint from any fan or anyone else, so as far as I am concerned the matter is closed.”

A City spokesman said the club had also received an email from the fan to say he did not want Hayward to be disciplined.
