MAT Birley is set to take up the role of player-coach at Worcester City.
The 31-year-old midfielder, who is aiming to complete his UEFA B licence, is the second existing squad member to agree terms for 2018-19 after Jamie Smith.
The former Birmingham City youngster has 154 City appearances to his name, 38 of which came in the club’s maiden Midland Football League season last term.
Birley’s stellar performances earned the plaudits of his peers when he was crowned players’ player of the season at City annual awards night.
