WORCESTER City failed to win at home for the second time in 48 hours as the were held to a disappointing draw by Fisher.

Jemiah Richards put City ahead after just eight minutes with a fine strike on the turn but sub Sanchez Ming fired past Danny McDonnell, re-turning after injury, from the edge of the area with 10 minutes left to earn the Londoners a share of the spoils.

Richard Dryden’s side controlled the game in the first-half against an average Fisher team but allowed their visitors into the contest as the clock ticked down and ultimately paid the price for some poor defending.

McDonnell apart, Dryden named an unchanged line-up from Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Braintree Town although the hosts reverted to a 4-4-2 system.

City started well and were ahead on eight minutes when Rob Davies’ cross from the right fell kindly for Richards in the penalty area and he turned to fire a fine shot past Chris Lewington into the bottom corner.

Fisher offered virtually nothing in the first-half and wasted most of their possession although Sosthene Yao did get the better of Ollie Barnes on 33 minutes but McDonnell was alert to the danger.

The City keeper was only called into action once more before the break as Yao fired tamely at him with the visitors’ best chance after bursting through the centre.

Jordan Fitzpatrick rounded off a good City passing move by firing wide of goal from 20 yards three minutes before the interval.

The former Hereford midfielder tried his luck again at the start of the second-half but keeper Lewington managed to hold on to his effort.

Dinsmore, just seconds before being replaced by Troy Wood on the hour, ran at the Fisher defence and slipped a pass through to Richards but Lewington came to the rescue.

Fisher were seeing more of the play and started to pin City back with a succession of corners and Karl Beckford forced McDonnell to save a 25-yarder on 66 minutes.

The visitors continued to threaten and should have equalised three minutes later but Jones Awuah managed to direct the ball against the crossbar from six yards.

Adaggio defused the situation momentarily by forcing Lewington to go down low to save his powerful drive but, within minutes, Fisher had gone up the other end and Luke Hickie fired into the side netting.

With City sitting deeper, the inevitable finally happened and Ming drilled the ball past McDonnell from 20 yards after the hosts had failed to clear.

Fisher went in search of a winner and came close when Ming’s drive was fumbled by an otherwise impressive McDonnell in the final minute.

City: McDonnell 7, Ward 6, Khan 7, Richardson 7, Barnes 7, Price 6, Davies 6, Fitzpatrick (Tyack 85) 7*, Richards (Walker 75) 6, Adaggio 6, Dinsmore (Wood 60, 6) 7. Subs not used: Brown, Clarke.

Attendance: 580.

the attendance of 580 should be a clue as to what the supporters think of the board.

Here we go with the old "if you don't go to away games you are not a proper supporter" arguments.

Some people have wives, girlfriends, significant others and children etc and therefore have other things they need to do every other Saturday rather than travelling up and down the country to watch a non-league football team. It is alright for people who are single, or have very understanding partners (or perhaps partners who are glad to see the back of them each Saturday!)

Just because people do not travel to away games, does not mean that they cannot have an opinion on the way the Club is being mismanaged.

I would imagine that many of the loyal supporters that go to every game home and away, are those that argue that they are "only interested in the football" and think those who criticise the Board of Directors are just "troublemakers".

Little do these people realise that unless things change and soon, there will be no Worcester City FC to support, and then what will they do with themselves every Saturday?

when dave talks of these people does he realise these people have helped the club unpaid for forty years ie painting the old brookside stand in spare time and sarcasim that wives partners r glad 2 see the back of them smacks of great self importance

I know a great many people have helped the Club in a great many ways for more years than I have been on this planet, and just look how the Board thanks them.

My point was that just because someone does not go to away games, does not mean they should not be able to express opinions regarding the way the Club is being run.

If anything Keith, those that go to every match, home and away, have more to lose if the Club folds than those that only go to home matches and the occasional away game, as they will have twice as many weekends to fill.

We all want the same thing, a successful football club on and off the pitch, and if people continue to ignore the massive debts, the missing accounts, the lack of business acumin in the Boardroom, the resignations of half of the Directors and the silence on the new stadium plans, then it could all be over before you know it.

I've helped the club unpaid over the last 20 years, supported the club for 35 years, and for a few seasons went to every home and away game. I got married and had two children, and priorities changed, I no longer went to away games, I can't justify taking one day out of my weekend and not spending it with my family, but that didn't make me any less of a supporter. I know supporters who cannot get to home or away games, but they are no lesser supporters, their commitments don't allow them to go to games, thats just the way it is.

I'm not sure why keithy thinks that going to away games makes you any more of a supporter of the football club than a shareholder who doesn't attend games at all.
The present issues are related to the business, the Limited company and the officers of the Limited company. I can't see how attending away games is going to force the Board of Directors to comply with Company Law and submit audited accounts!!

dave has got it right at last all supporters are equal in commitment i never said going away was more important and yes resolveing the current problems is vital to long term survival only working together will ensure we dont end up like nuneaton or newcastle where indviduals destroy clubs.mr pitt club more important than u or me

Unfotunately Keithy, there are only a few people willing to do something about resolving the current problems. No one other than the fans of Worcester City are going to save it from its impending demise. The majority of fans are "only there for the football" so if those protesting give up through lack of support from those who don't want to get involved then WCFC will reap what is currently being sown sooner rather than later.

Those displaying a "Resign Now" banner at the game on Saturday were asked to remove it by other supporters, because it was in "their spot".

WAKE UP CITY FANS, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE

Actually keithy, both you and me are far more important than a football club. I don't buy this stuff about a football club being so important, like the lady on Match of the Day saying how the trouble at Newcastle had "ruined her life".
I do think however that shareholders in a business have a right to challenge the actions of the officers of that business, particularly when they see bad practice in place. The present Board are taking us ever closer to the situation at Nuneaton, yet only a few can see it. The rest will wake up one morning and read in the WN that the club has gone into administration and say "what happened???"
Oh well, c'est la vie!!
