Adams ‘no’ to City's board invitation

CELIA Adams, who was co-opted onto Worcester City’s board last June, has ended her links with the club.

The chartered accountant says she will not be taking up the board’s offer to join them as a director.

As part of the process to consider that offer, in her professional capacity, she has brought all the accounts up to date for the last 27 months and prepared profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet projections for the forthcoming year. She now considers her work has been completed.

City chairman Dave Boddy said: “I would like to thank Celia for all her efforts for the club, especially in bringing our accounting system up to date.”

Hang on - is Mr Boddy saying here that the Company Secretary Mr Brian Lancaster was incapable of keeping the accounting system up to date?? He was unable to manage the accounts of a business no bigger in turnover than a corner shop??
So now the only person involved with the club with real financial and business acumen has gone, who within the present Board is going to manage the financial upheaval of a multi-million pound ground move?? St. Modwen and the Carey brothers will eat the four clowns for breakfast, and they know it, thats why they're still involved in this deal despite the credit crunch, they know the only losers will be WCFC and their ineffective financial management.

Come on Worcester News, two more Directors gone, that brings the total to 7 resignations in the last few months. How does this tie in with the answers Mr Boddy gave to the previous tame questions??
